Christmas Martingale Collar

Martingale Dog Collars – Handmade in Ireland

Handmade with care by Acid Witch, a small Irish crafter, our martingale dog collars are a great option for dogs, particularly hounds and bullies, whose necks are wider than their heads.

How to Measure Your Dog

To ensure the best fit, you’ll need to take three measurements:

• Base of the neck: Measure around the widest part of the neck where the collar will sit.
• High on the neck: Measure just behind the ears, usually the narrowest point of the neck.
• Widest part of the head: Measure around the largest part of your dog’s head to ensure the collar will comfortably fit over it.

Important: Martingale collars do not open like standard collars, so it’s essential to check that the collar expands wide enough to fit comfortably over your dog’s head.

Designed with a limited tightening mechanism, martingale collars gently adjust when tension is applied, helping prevent your dog from slipping out of their collar while out on walks.

Safety Information

If your dog is reactive or tends to pull or lunge on walks, a well-fitted harness is a much safer option.

Although the tightening mechanism on a martingale collar is designed to prevent slipping rather than cause pain or provide a correction, strong or sudden pulling can still put pressure on your dog’s neck and potentially cause injury.

Martingale collars should never be left on your dog unsupervised around the house, as the D-ring or collar may become caught on furniture or other objects, creating a risk of injury.
